More about Kathleen

Kathy is the founder of WalkMindfully. Her programs are dedicated to providing mindfulness training to individuals, businesses, healthcare professionals, and community groups. She is experienced in giving group presentations and seminars. She has received extensive training in teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) from the Center for Mindfulness, founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn, and is a Qualified MBSR Teacher. Kathy has been practicing and teaching mindfulness for the past 10 years.

Kathy provides coaching to executives and managers in organizations that include non-profit foundations, financial institutions, and media organizations. Kathy has extensive and wide-ranging experience helping individuals deal with challenging work and life experiences, acquire new behaviors, and develop new problem solving approaches.

She also maintains a private clinical practice focused on adult clients adjusting to a variety of life circumstances. Kathy has expertise in assisting others to manage stress, regulate emotions, and develop greater self-awareness and understanding. Since 1997, she has worked part-time as a senior clinical psychologist at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis where she helps patients successfully return to work following cognitive or personality changes due to illness or physical trauma.

She is an adjunct professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Minnesota. Kathy completed her B.S. in Psychology at the University of Wisconsin and earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Minnesota.
